Conceptual design for new rectory at Sacred Heart Parish. The proposed design draws from the context of the mid-century church and office designed by Carroll Martell. The two bedroom, two bath home features a brick veneer with radiused corners, metal standing seam roof, covered entry patio, and south facing deck.

The conceptual design and funding process included pro-bono work provided by Architecture All Forms.

HUD-funded rehabilitation of a 16-story building built in 1970 for affordable senior housing by Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington.

Rehabilitation included 150 1-bedroom dwelling units, amenity space, and site improvements. Interior scope of work included: new finishes, casework, doors & hardware, plumbing fixtures, appliances, electrical / lighting system, as well as, selective demolition of existing non-structural partitions and new partitions to accommodate new accessible dwelling units.

Exterior scope of work included miscellaneous maintenance, fence replacement, new ADA parking.

The project scope included two separate buildings and converted vacant unfinished tenant space within a podium style building to 34 commercial flex units that include a main live / work space, full kitchen, bathroom, and washer / dryer.

Rebranding effort with Bruchi’s Subs and Sandwiches of Spokane. This process resulted in a new brand-specific design for all future Bruchi’s restaurants. We looked to regional agricultural forms as our design concept and adapted this language to produce a functional modern restaurant for Bruchi’s that can be repeated throughout the northwest. This rebranded Bruchi’s restaurant includes an outdoor walk-up service counter with covered dining area for 24 guests, on-site parking, and a drive-thru. The project is located on a highly visible site along S. Regal Street in Spokane.

Cultural Resource Center and School

The new Cultural Resource Center will be a community hub for the Interior Salish Tribe in Spokane, Washington. The building will feature a large multipurpose space (gym/auditorium/cafeteria) at the center of the lower level. The upper level will include an office, classroom, and rehearsal room. The building design is informed by Interior Salish cultural traditions and typologies.

The new Salish School will provide an immersive learning environment in the Southern Salish Interior languages for children ages 1-14. Outdoor play space for younger children will be provided adjacent to classrooms serving those children with administrative support located nearby. The current design integrates the Salish School on the lower level of a residential building within the River Family Haven development.

Both projects are currently in conceptual design.

Conceptual design for Casa MiA for Mujeres in Action, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence from Latinx communities in Spokane. The master planning includes 12 townhouse apartments with a mix of 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units, a community building, and site amenities including a playground, grass play area, and raised garden beds. The building and site design were informed by listening sessions from the community that MiA serves.

Conversion of an existing warehouse into a single family residence in the up-and-coming East Sprague neighborhood in Spokane, WA.

The re-design of the four-bedroom home is informed by the existing building elements including heavy timber beams and columns, brick, concrete floors, and wood roof joints creating an industrial / loft aesthetic.

New residence and studio for artist Gina Freuen. The modest two-story home is inspired by the simple regional agricultural forms common in Eastern Washington.

The ground floor includes a kitchen, dining room, bathroom and pottery studio with outdoor kiln area. The second floor includes a bedroom, bathroom, and photography studio with views to the surrounding hills and woods in the Little Spokane River Valley

This addition to an existing log cabin is located on scenic Priest Lake in northern Idaho. A new master bedroom suite, screened porch, and covered deck were added to the ground floor of this cabin. A new powder room and storage were added to the second floor loft space.
